Notice of Privacy Practices (HIPAA)

1. Scope
This notice applies to the protected health information (PHI) processed by INDESA in connection with the services provided at its Miami location (Florida, USA), in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and its regulations (45 CFR Parts 160 and 164).
2. Our commitment
INDESA is required by law to protect the privacy of your health information, to provide you with this notice of our obligations and practices, and to notify you in the event of a breach affecting your PHI.
3. Uses and disclosures of your information
- For treatment: to coordinate and provide your clinical imaging and densitometry services.
- For payment: to manage billing and collection of services.
- For health care operations: quality control, auditing and improvement of studies.
Any other use or disclosure will require your prior written authorization, which you may revoke at any time.
4. Your rights over your PHI
- Request access to and a copy of your health information.
- Request correction of incomplete or inaccurate information.
- Request restrictions on certain uses and disclosures.
- Request confidential communications by alternative means.
- Receive an accounting of certain disclosures of your PHI.
- Receive a paper copy of this notice.
5. Artificial intelligence and human review
The processing of studies with artificial intelligence models is performed on secure and auditable infrastructure. Every AI-assisted reading is reviewed and signed by a specialist physician before delivery.
6. Information security
INDESA applies administrative, physical and technical safeguards to protect PHI, including encryption, access control and audit logs for each reading.
7. Complaints
If you believe your privacy rights have been violated, you may file a complaint with INDESA by writing to privacidad@indesa.health, or with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights. You will not be retaliated against for filing a complaint.
